I started my first real business out of my college dorm room cleaning carpets. Sine then I have had a couple of construction businesses including a bridge repair company that grosses about 5M a year. I have had an eBay store for many years and I have helped others start their own business and move into the heavy highway segment. I became a bridge contractor after many years of working as a Superintendent, Project Manager and Estimator for other Heavy Highway Companies. Currently I also teach a couple of classes at Central Connecticut State University and recently received an award (see below).
Even though I started my college career in 1989, I did not finish my first degree until 2010 because life got in the way. Now I have earned a Doctor of Public Administration from Valdosta State University, A Master of Arts in Management and Leadership from Liberty University and a Bachelor of Science in Interdisciplinary studies with concentrations in Science, Bible and Physical Education from Tennessee Temple University. I am also a Reiki Master and have many construction industry licenses and certifications.
My mission - I want to help others achieve what seem to be impossible dreams. Too many people are told "you are not smart enough" to be wildly successful. I disagree. I constantly talk with brilliant and talented people who do not even dare to dream big because they are only being "realistic." I started off sweeping floors in a construction company 25 years ago and at that time aspired to be a diesel mechanic or bridge carpenter for a heavy highway company; now I own one. If you have a dream I would love to help you plan for and achieve it.
I am an adjunct instructor at Central Connecticut State University in The Manufacturing & Construction Management Department. Classes I have taught include: Construction Surveying, Construction Documents and Plan Reading & Takeoffs. I began teaching in spring 2021 and spring of 2022 I was honored as a Finalist in The Excellence in Teaching Award for part time faculty at CCSU. This award is special to me because the students must write a letter of recommendation for each professor nominated. Central Connecticut State University has an excellent support program for its professors demonstrated in on way by Faculty Day and the Excellence in Teaching awards ceremony.
